6 months ago, I was weighing at 116kg. 

After 6 months of personal training, I lost 16kg.* The training programme not only changed my physique, it built up my confidence, my esteem, and my overall health. Initially, I couldn’t even do a single squat or burpee due to my body weight, and blood pressure. the areas I didn’t know need developing?  And, perhaps most importantly, will there be a structured programme?

 

I had a reasonable level of fitness having played football at a pretty high level for a long time.  Wanting to still be able to continue to play competitively and challenge people half my age and having gone through two knee operations, I thought that this idea was farfetched.

 

Denesh’s first move was to understand what I could (and couldn’t) do. With the restricted movement in my right knee he set about rehabilitating the muscle in the area to provide greater support and ensuring that I stretched the ligaments constantly.  He did a thorough assessment on the strength of my core muscles, my flexibility, my balance and my overall strength but more significantly – he listened.  

In selecting a personal trainer one of the biggest concerns one has is whether or not they are going to be

the right person for you.  Will I be motivated by them?  Will they be able to pinpoint, and then improve,

After much deliberation and explanation, Denesh introduce me to a programme “SPEED.POWER.PERFORMANCE” which was very progressive, full of variety, fun and awesome to follow. Programme started with strong emphasis on rehab and strengthening my injured knee. Then it came, the variety, the challenges, the fun, call it whatever you want, but one of the best training I ever gotten since my days of hiring trainers.

 

Denesh’s knowledge of fitness and sports science has proven invaluable in our training as well I feel fitter in my every day life, I have more energy and I am in better shape than I have ever been previously.  All of which I can attribute to Denesh and his personal approach to fitness.

 

I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Denesh as a trainer but I don’t think the term ‘trainer’ does him justice when he’s much more of a fitness mentor and kudos to the programme SPEED.POWER.PERFORMANCE.

I'm really pleased and happy to have Jason as my personal trainer. From all the FLAB TO FIT training sessions, I have learnt so much! The program is filled with 

variety, fun yet challenging, high emphasis on full body movement that left me panting, but I feel stronger week in week out.

used to be so active in life. My fitness journey began with the TONE IT UP programme under the guidance of Jovin. My first session incorporated just some very light and easy upper body combinations - but I was already struggling with it and I could not even text properly with the post-exercise soreness that followed. Now after about 4 weeks of twice-weekly sessionsunder TONE IT UP, I know exactly how much my body has benefitted from it; I have improved on multiple areas such as my speed, endurance, and stamina. Initially, I struggled with the exercises implemented. Jovin, however, patiently encouraged, guided and mentored me. I have since mastered those exercises and as he mentioned, my body has adapted and evolved. I feel so good about myself again and my confidence has definitely returned. I am now doing stuff that I have never envisioned myself doing and am back to horse riding again. I could never have achieved all these without Jovin’s mentorship.


Exercises under TONE IT UP were always progressive by nature, challenging, yet fun. The circuit exercises incorporated into this programme are also very creative. These circuit exercises are known to be the ‘expect the unexpected’ by Jovin. He makes working out for 1 hour with him feel like a 30mins affair. At the end of every session, I would feel so happy and good about myself! Thank you Brandnewstart, and I would highly recommend Jovin as a complete trainer to anyone.

SATISFIED TONE IT  UP CLIENT

When I first trained with Brandnewstart, it was after a 6 month - hiatus from any form of exercise due to a previous sports accident, where I fell off my horse. It didn’t feel good especially when I 

exercise was golf and I hardly had any cardio workout. I told Denesh that my target was to lose 10kg in 3 months and improve my core muscle groups so that I could improve my golf.
 
I must say that Denesh managed my weight loss programme, in a detailed and professional manner. He took into account my age, fitness level and recommended me the FLAB TO FIT programme that I find to be progressively effective. The programme entails a lot of bodyweight movements which Denesh explains were joint savers, until I get my form and techniques right, weight training would damage my joints. The program reminds me of school days, well structured, each session is progressively in difficulty yet not too difficult that I can’t perform it.
 
I not only achieved my target weight loss of 10kg, but my overall fitness had improved so much that I was able to complete 8km run easily. Due to the strengthening of my core, my golf improved so much that I was able to hit the ball further. I reduced my handicap from 18 to 12 in 3 months.
 

My family and friends are still amazed by my transformation. Statistically my weight now hovers between 88-89kg. My blood pressure has remained a constant 117/76 since starting training. My waist size dropped by 4cm from 40cm to 36cm.*  I must thank Denesh for his patience, professionalism and personal attention that he has dedicated to me from the very first visit to FTI.

After shedding 20 kilograms (From 96kg to 76kg) during my National Service days, I found myself reaching a stage of plateau in losing weight. Coupled with my knee injury, I realized that I needed the help of a personal trainer to achieve my ideal weight and physique.

 

Jason has helped given weights training a new dimension; fun. I used to dislike heading to the gym. After a year of business travel and unhealthy eating, I sought the help of Brandnewstart to improve my physical condition.  Before I started, I had put on so much weight that I either had to slim down 

or throw out my entire wardrobe.  The former option was definitely more attractive!  I started personal training under the Tone It Up programme with Jovin two to three times a week. Unlike other programmes from other leading gyms, TONE IT UP is a personalised workout that was customized for me to keep track of my diet and fitness regime. Each workout is different and progressive by nature and keeps me exercising and feeling good.

I describe Jovin's training style as "no nonsense but fun".  This training programme is packed with variety and never once was there a dull moment. The training sessions are planned and executed well: even though we mainly trained in a condo gym without the benefit of a full range of exercise equipment, Jovin would always come equipped with all the ‘tools of the trade’ as he like to call them.  Jovin was very meticulous and vigilant in the manner at which I execute the exercises; correcting, teaching, and improving my entire posture to max out my workout and still avoid muscle injuries.

 

Revamping my eating habits is vital component in weight loss.  Jovin shared with me the kind of food I should eat to achieve my fitness goals - keeping track of my diet when I am on business trips where my tendency would be to wine and dine freely.

Completed a vertical marathon that by jogging up 222 metres of stairs in under 15 minutes

Lost a total of 22lbs

            I’ve been an avid gym goer for the past 1.5 years and have seen my physique transformed from a              relatively skinny built to a buff one. However, there wasn’t any quality in the gains that I’ve packed on.

I started training with Denesh one year ago and have found the training journey to be very rewarding and challenging. When I first met Denesh I had been on training on and off for some time and I was weighing over 90kg. I was lethargic and very much overweight and I

I had a really pleasant experience training with Jason. Not only was Jason an excellent trainer, he was up to date with the latest training techniques, and was always teaching me new ways to train and meet my goals. Jason was also really knowledgeable about nutrition
